Volunteer Support

Responsible volunteer management

The Center has had a responsible volunteer management policy since May 2015. This policy was put in place with a spirit of openness, tolerance and inclusion, and with a regard for justice, equality, thoroughness and efficiency. We hope to welcome new volunteers in the warmest way possible, while ensuring integrity, confidentiality and respect.

  • Enrollment and orientation interview;
  • Presentation of the volunteer guide ;
  • Verification of references, and of driver’s license (if applicable);
  • Guidance and support.

Volunteer Training

The Centre d’action bénévole Saint-Siméon/Port-Daniel advocates ongoing training and training sessions tailored to the needs of volunteers and the realities of the time.

For example, a 3 hours training on accompaniment and transportation is given to volunteers involved in this service. This is a useful training which allows the volunteer to understand the role and its responsibilities.

Volunteer Recognition

The recognition of volunteers begins right at recruitment due to the fact that we are able to understand what it is that volunteers wish to gain from their experience, and to offer them a wide range of roles.

We recognize ourvolunteers by highlighting their individual contributions and the impact these have within the organization and community.

The annual Volunteer Week offers an excellent opportunity to official celebrate volunteers. All the same, the recognition of volunteers is present everyday in our volunteer center through various methods; a little message, a call, a small surprise... the important thing is to take the time to do it.
