The criteria for autonomous community action

As an autonomous community organization we must, by our actions and activities, respect the criteria of autonomous community action; precisely defined by a national policy in 2001.

• be a non-profit organization;
• be rooted in the community;
• maintain an associative and democratic life;
• be free to determine its mission, approaches, practices and orientation.
• be an initiative of community members;
• pursue a specific social mission which promotes social   transformation;
• demonstrate citizen practices and broad approaches, based on the global needs addressed;
• be managed by a board of directors independent of the public network.
