Celebrations were planned for April during the volunteer week, activities to highlight the work of nearly 1 400 volunteers in 35 years, dozens of workers both permanent and on projects, without forgetting all the development with and for the community over the past 35 years.
The arrival of the pandemic played tricks on us that, like all of us, we would have passed, to see our personal and professional lives change too, all this distancing, these prohibitions on activities, gatherings, activities suspended everywhere, in all sectors, education, health, commerce, public services and the community have not escaped this.
So, if we could not celebrate, other projects were planned, projects whose development we were able to continue despite everything. We wanted to develop projects that would remain beyond 35 years, so we had chosen in the working committee to review our logo after all these years! A new image, both simple and representative of the Centre d’action bénévole Saint-Siméon / Port-Daniel.
- HOUSE & HEART: The pictogram of a house with a heart in the center speaks for itself; illustrating that the Centre D’action Bénévole and it’s volunteers are in the heart of the action.
- COLOURS: The red expresses the love and energy that guides the organization; the bluish gray the calm and balance.
- TOPOGRAPHY: The choice of a classic topography, straight and strong, enclosed in a block, offers a solid foundation of strength and harmony.
The house represents the living environment, the volunteers who come and work there, all of the volunteers in the community, in the field. The house is the welcome and in most cases, when we enter the house, it is reassuring, it is warm, it is supportive! The house is all this family that we all form together to beautify and brighten our surroundings, to warm our hearts and those of others that we help every day.
The heart, it is all the volunteers who give their time, it is these generous people who invest themselves, as much our members as those people who come punctually to give, help, support on a daily basis in the community. It is our workers who are incredibly committed, they are also our partners, yes those who believe in the mission of our Volunteer Center and who are committed to it. The heart is all of the humans involved in this humanitarian and community work that is your Center.
